The heart of tourism and gastronomy beats in Thessaloniki from 14 to 16 November, as TIF-HELEXPO organizes the unique exhibition duo of Philoxenia-Hotelia and FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop. At the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, the two leading sectors of the Greek economy create a comprehensive platform for business deals, networking, and new trends.
Philoxenia-Hotelia: 250 exhibitors from 18 countries in the benchmark event for Greek tourism
The 40th Philoxenia-Hotelia is a premier meeting point for the tourism sector, bringing together 250 exhibitors this year. Its international appeal is affirmed by the participation of exhibitors from 18 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Greek tourism bodies also have a strong presence, with 12 Regions of the country taking part. Commercial interest is sealed by the presence of 110 hosted buyers from 37 countries. For the first time, the Corporate B2B networking event is organized within Philoxenia-Hotelia, where large corporate groups meet with exhibitors (hotels and travel agencies) with the aim of networking and the provision of travel services. In addition, among many other parallel events, the conference titled “PHILOXENIA IN A DIGITAL ERA/BEYOND 4.0” and the photography competition “40 Years of Philoxenia – Faces, Places & Flavors of Greek Hospitality” will take place.
FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop: The extroversion of Greek taste
At the same time, FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop will highlight the prospects as well as all current developments in the crucial food and beverage sector. The exhibition features businesses from the largest production Regions of Greece, such as Central and Western Macedonia, the Peloponnese, Thessaly, and Crete, while international participations come from countries such as Italy, Germany, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Australia. The strong commercial interest is reflected in the attraction of significant buyers, such as major supermarket chains from the Gulf countries, importers from Europe, as well as procurement executives from restaurant chains and hotels.
The exclusive tribute to the art of coffee “All About Café” continues successfully this year, while the dynamic of FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop is also transferred to the heart of the city through the innovative action “Gastronomy EXPerience – taste the stories,” within which, today at Aristotelous Square, exhibitors’ products will be showcased through the creations of top restaurants in Thessaloniki.
